Reviews ~~~~~~~ By Paul Simpson <a href=" http://www.allmusic.com/album/galactic-parables-vol — 1-mw0002841370« target=»_NEW« rel=»nofollow" http://www.allmusic.com/album/galactic-parables-vol — 1-mw0002841370</a Chicago-based avant jazz musician and composer Rob Mazurek has produced his most cosmic, interplanetary exertion with the Exploding Leading Orchestra, working with a rotating meeting featuring complete collaborators from his other ensembles such as Chicago Nonconformist and São Paulo Nonconformist to initiate his most body of knowledge fiction-themed, Sun Ra-inspired compositions. Galactic Parables, Vol. 1, commissioned by the Sant'Anna Arresi Jazz Holy Day in Sardinia, Italy in 2013, is the Orchestra's most vigorous the criminal element yet. Expanding on Sixty-Three Moons of Jupiter, their 2009 collaboration with Roscoe Mitchell, Galactic Parables features freewheeling improvisations for multiple percussion instruments, electronics, guitars, horns, and Mazurek's thought-provoking cornet playing. The prolonged pieces are guided by fabulous poesy vocal by complete collaborator Damon Locks, whose severe, paranoid proclamations lecture subjects including serfdom, ghosts, and the awakening of the unbelievable. Locks' vocals are often electronically manipulated and distorted, and are even contradictory with samples of the unmistakable say of Sun Ra himself, who inquires "Are you spotless? I have spots" every now throughout the first disc, a recording of the work's Sardinia first. The second disc of this let go contains the same compositions recorded dwell at the Chicago Cultural Center, and the quiet and lengths of the compositions are rearranged, suitable the improvisatory mould of the exertion. The Chicago conduct slight tones down the abrasiveness of the Italian one, placing less force on electronics, but still letting the work's impressive bulletin take a fancy to through, particularly on the 22-jiffy "Make Way to the City« and the guitar shredding of »The Arc of Serfdom #72." Galactic Parables, Vol. 1 is an astonishing, exertion, and continues to substantiate Mazurek at a resourceful extreme, undeviatingly following Cuneiform's 2014 let go of the altogether unequalled Show Up Again the Tides, Mazurek's entirely emotive duty to his departed mummy recorded with combo Infernal Cube SP. -- By Stef <a href=" http://www.freejazzblog.org/2015/07/rob-mazurek-celebrating-his — 50th-day — 1.html« target=»_NEW« rel=»nofollow" http://www.freejazzblog.org/2015/07/rob-mazurek-celebrating-his — 50th-day — 1.html</a By Invoice Meyer By Grego Applegate Edwards By Karl Ackermann <a href=" http://www.allaboutjazz.com/galactic-parables-amount — 1-rob-mazurek-cuneiform-records-inspect-by-karl-ackermann.php« target=»_NEW« rel=»nofollow" http://www.allaboutjazz.com/galactic-parables-amount — 1-rob-mazurek-cuneiform-records-inspect-by-karl-ackermann.php</a Por Tiago Ferreira (pt) <a href=" http://namiradogroove.com.br/criticas/jazz-criticas/rob-mazurek-exploding-leading-orchestra-galactic-parables-amount — 1« target=»_NEW« rel=»nofollow" http://namiradogroove.com.br/criticas/jazz-criticas/rob-mazurek-exploding-leading-orchestra-galactic-parables-amount — 1</a Da Alfredo Sgarlato (it) <a href=" http://www.distorsioni.net/canali/dischi/galactic-parables-vol — 1« target=»_NEW« rel=»nofollow" http://www.distorsioni.net/canali/dischi/galactic-parables-vol — 1</a Da Enrico Bettinello (it) <a href=" http://www.allaboutjazz.com/galactic-parables-amount — 1-rob-mazurek-exploding-leading-orchestra-cuneiform-records-inspect-by-enrico-bettinello.php« target=»_NEW« rel=»nofollow" http://www.allaboutjazz.com/galactic-parables-amount — 1-rob-mazurek-exploding-leading-orchestra-cuneiform-records-inspect-by-enrico-bettinello.php</a Par Aleksandr Lézy (fr) <a href=" http://www.chromatique.net/chroniques/item/15623-galactic-parables-vol1« target=»_NEW« rel=»nofollow" http://www.chromatique.net/chroniques/item/15623-galactic-parables-vol1</a Por Carlos Navarro A.
