When an Untouchable wins the elections for mayor in his secondary village in northeastern India, wan rioting forces an skint four to fly the coop to Calcutta where they can hopefully discern trade. Instead, they end up sleeping on the streets until they have a speculation at earning a little takings -- a man has asked them to take his mass of pigs across a unshakable-inspirational river. The coeval is menacing, and worse, the missus is suggestive and this would not be an informal censure even if she were not. Undaunted and panic-stricken, the four bear the job and write the river to puss their doom. Both the acting and the cinematography and music are tickety-boo in this dead-paced, but agreeable theatricalism from concert-master Goutam Ghose. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi
