Handmade: By Princess Appointment
Four-responsibility series following the making of four smashing objects, handcrafted by companies with a princess decree.

1) Wedgwood
which follows the making of a Wedgwood vase. The culmination of over 250 years of judgement and legacy, the panther vase is handcrafted by artisan potters using the same techniques pioneered by Josiah Wedgwood in the 18th century. But the Wedgwood mill in Stoke is now a very different station. Under new, transalpine ownership, it's a gleaming, fresh craftswoman, and as we mind the vase slowly charming embody in words, the also takes a merciful look at how this quintessentially British proprietorship is reinventing itself for the 21st century.

2) John Lobb Shoes
In the trail of St James«s Palatial Home is the workshop of shoemakers John Lobb. Since the mid — 19th century, they have handcrafted shoes for gentlemen and princess warrants from both the Duke of Edinburgh and the Prince of Wales. It»s a rare legacy proprietorship still run by the genuine kinsmen and this follows a day in the soul of the shoemakers, who use methods that have hardly changed since the proprietorship was founded. From pencilled outlines on brown files to the severe and stitching of leather, heels hammered on soles to the fixed polishing, the follows the accurate skill operation and hears from the shoemakers themselves, many of whom have all in decades working for the proprietorship.

3) Business of Benney
In a matter-of-fact workshop in a surroundings business in Wiltshire, silversmith Simon Benney makes idiosyncratic jewels and elaborate household objects for the princess kinsmen and special clients. Simon is following in the footsteps of his priest Gerald Benney, who revolutionised the form of British silverware in the strut-war era. This follows the making of an engraved gold and diamond lavaliere, featuring Simon's trademark enamel perfect, using techniques his priest learnt from Faberge.

4) Steinway
Restless between the mill in Hamburg, where Steinway pianos are still made fundamentally by management, and Steinway Theatre in London, where a collaborate of technicians make a case for and refresh the pianos, this offers a thumbnail sketch of the craftsmen behind the conspicuous wherewithal. From the stoic German mill workers bending the frames and polishing the veneers to longstanding British restorer Jeff about to kip from the proprietorship, the lifts the lid on the hallowing and skills required to walk away and make a case for a stardom piano. Holders of a princess decree since the days of Idol Victoria, Steinway supplies pianos to the princess household as well as many paramount performers
