Tubular Bells is the enter annals album of English musician Mike Oldfield, recorded when he was 19 and released in 1973 when he was 20. It was the first album released by Virgin Records and an initially cornerstone of the company«s star. Vivian Stanshall provided the words of the «Master of Ceremonies» who reads off the index of instruments at the end of the first downward movement. The rent piano alone was used in short in the soundtrack to the William Friedkin cloud The Exorcist (released the same year), and the album gained remarkable airplay because of the film»s star. The following year the dressing-down was orchestrated by David Bedford for The Orchestral Tubular Bells construct. It had three sequels in the 1990s, Tubular Bells II (1992), Tubular Bells III (1998) and The Millennium Bell (1999). For Good, the album was re-recorded as Tubular Bells 2003 at its 30th anniversary in 2003. A newly muddled and mastered re-question major of the inventive album appeared in 2009 on Mercury Records, with extra material.

AllMusic Study by Mike DeGagne:
Mike Oldfield’s groundbreaking album Tubular Bells is arguably the finest conglomeration of off-centered instruments concerted together to be made up of a apart unsurpassed dressing-down. A category of instruments are combined to frame an fidgety multitude of rhythms, tones, pitches, and harmonies that all coalesce neatly into each other, resulting in an astounding plethora of music. Oldfield plays all the instruments himself, including such oddities as the Farfisa publication, the Lowrey publication, and the flageolet. The palsy-walsy aware spectral rent, made acclaimed by its use in The Exorcist, starts the album off slowly, as each means acoustically wriggles its way into the popular charivari that is heard, until there is a fine unison of weird sounds that wildly excites the ears. Throughout the album, the tempos stretch from tone down to consuming to out-and-out surprising, making for some fantastic melodious culminations. Mandolins and Spanish guitars are joined by grinding organs and keyboards, while oddball bells and cranking noises quality in the dissociate. In the central of the album, visitor Vivian Stanshall announces each means seconds before it is heard, ending with the foreshadowing sounding tubular bells, a truly intense and dominating means. The most spellbinding and devastating interpretation of this album is the truly that so many sounds are conjured up yet none go unremarked, allowing the listener a gentle submergence into each unsurpassed piece of the music. Tubular Bells is a glorious airing into the bailiwick of new age music.
